Epiphyllum guatemalense

Blooming now, a rather pretty flower after all! Not much scent that I can detect, but as they say, the night is young.

Epiphyllum guatemalense (subspecies of E. hookeri)

White wheel shaped flower with narrow petals. Growth is wide and long, flat, basket adaptable, spineless branches. Night bloomer. L

Hopefully it will survive the winter here with a bit of protection, we'll see.

  1. My mom has a few beautiful specimens of this plant in her home in Central America. She gets so excited when they bloom. I would love to purchase a plant for her to enjoy in the States. Where did you find it?

  2. At a meeting of the Epiphyllum Society of America. This plant is more tender than the hybrids and did not fare well with our cold inland valley winters, so I gave it away to someone who lives along the coast.
